4/16 ~ Attend County Planning Board Mtg Tomorrow Eve

County Planning Board begins, again, the task of developing a High Impact Polluting Industry Ordinance tomorrow, April 17, 7pm Community Services Bldg, Gaston St.  (Biomass Moratorium expires in July.)  Let’s all show our support for the new board’s efforts by attending these meetings, and offering community input.  This is one of the first concrete steps we as a community can take in determining our vision.  See you there!

2/10/14 – Feb. 19 SOLAR PRESENTATION ~ “Clean Energy Partnerships in Transylvania County”

With NC leading the way, PCM is sponsoring a free presentation to learn about clean energy investments for Transylvania County on Wed., Feb. 19 at 6:30 PM in the TC Library Rogow Room.  Richard Banker, president of Renewable Energy Results, LLC, (www.renewableenergyresults.com) will discuss the opportunities for commercial scale solar energy investments and Ned Ryan Doyle, Project Coordinator for the Carolina Community Energy Partnerships project, (www.oursoutherncommunity.org) will discuss the opportunities for residential and small business scale clean energy investments. We continue to move forward with our plans on recycling and composting on a city/county level. We need everyone here to please contact your elected officials regarding your support in efforts to extend life of our landfill, by at a minimum, improving recycling efforts throughout the community, and looking seriously at composting our organic waste.
